15 February 2026, Birch Acres FC experienced a deeply special and emotional moment as the family of our late founder, Ronny McDougall, travelled all the way from England to pay homage to the Club he helped establish.

They were warmly welcomed by the Club Chairperson, the Head of Marketing, and a junior level coach. Making the occasion even more meaningful was the presence of former TG, coaches, and former committee members who were part of the establishment of the Club. Their attendance reflected the strong foundation, unity, and dedication that built Birch Acres FC into the community institution it is today.

Among those present were the parents of Bradley Cross, now a player for Kaizer Chiefs. They proudly shared that Bradley once played for Birch Acres FC, a testament to the Club’s long-standing commitment to developing talent. In a particularly touching moment, Bradley’s 91-year-old grandfather — himself a former coach and one of the early contributors to the Club — was also in attendance. His presence beautifully symbolised the Club’s rich history and multi-generational legacy.

The gathering was more than a visit; it was a celebration of legacy, history, and community. It brought together former committee members, coaches and parents — all united by the values and vision that Ronny instilled.

Ronny McDougall’s legacy continues to live on in every child who trains on these grounds, every volunteer who serves the Club, and every family that calls Birch Acres FC home.
